Road to Egypt 2021: Austria reached the 27th Men’s Handball World Championship after the cancellation of European qualifiers, as they came eighth in the EHF Euro 2020.
History: Austria appeared six times in the World Championship, with the best-ever finish coming all the way back in 1938, when they came second.

Austria have reached the Handball World Championship six times.
The team is led by left back Nikola Bilyk – the flagbearer of the Austria squad. He was the youngest player to take part in the 2015 World Championship, as he was only 18 years old at the time.
Austria’s best World Championship result remains their second-place finish in the tournament’s first edition, all the way back in 1938.
