Minister of Youth and Sports: Government support was shown in H.E President of Egypt's presence
Dr Ashraf Sobhy, the Egyptian Minister of Youth and Sports spoke of his satisfaction at how the opening ceremony of the 27th World Men's Handball Championship went on Tuesday, which took place at the Cairo International Stadium Hall in the presence of H.E President of the Arab Republic of Egypt, Abdel Fatah El-Sisi.
"The ceremony was planned really well and was praised by all national delegations present here, all of whom have been greatly satisfied with the way things have been done.
"What gave the ceremony a special specatcular elegance was the presence of H.E President Abdel Fatah El-Sisi, which in turn reflects how much the government is deeply in support of the tournament. This comes at a difficult time such as now, with the second wave of the pandemic.
"This serves to show the world that we can organise big tournaments, and shows how responsible we are."
