Denmark targets defending their title

The Danish National Team head Coach Nikolaj Jacobsen believes the team has good chances at the Egypt 2021.

Denmark was drawn in group E with Argentine, Bahrain and DR Congo.

"I am pleased with the draw. Our chances to reach the Main Round are good - but I have huge respect for the teams in our group and in our half. We will do our best to defend the world title and we look forward to play in Egypt."

Denmark come to Egypt as the title defenders, having lifted the World Championship trophy in 2019, their first win.

They also claimed three Bronze Medals in the 2002, 2004, and 2006 editions of the European Championships.

They also made seven appearances in the Summer Olympic Games, with their first performance in Munich 1972, and won the gold medal at Rio 2016.

Denmark have made 23 appearances in the World Championship and are looking to defend their title at Egypt 2021, led by experienced coach Nikolaj Jacobsen and last edition’s MVP, Mikkel Hansen.
